Children of the Gods

Within the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, five soldiers were playing poker before a huge device wrapped in gray tarp. The female soldier thought she heard movement by the Stargate, but the other dismissed her worries. The female soldier wasn't convinced and approached the Stargate when suddenly, the tarp is loosened and the seven chevrons are activated. The Stargate spins its black ring and with a gush, a column of light shoots out. It stills and becomes a sparkling pool of light. The female soldier tries to touch its strange surface when a metal sphere is dropped to her feet through the Stargate. A beam comes out of it and it scans her up and down.

Before the female soldier could pick it up, a being with a silver metal cobra head grabs her. Seconds later, six other cobra heads exit the gate and into the room. Their leader, in a gold cobra head, soon follows and retracts its headdress to reveal the dark skinned features of Apophis.

He subdues the struggling female soldier with a device that's strapped to his left palm. The soldiers, overcoming their initial shock, open fired at the enemies. Their actions were in vain, however, for the cobras' blast lances were far too powerful.

All around the complex, alarms were ringing, soldiers running to the Stargate room. General Hammond with a group of armed soldiers enters the embarkament room just in time to see the Stargate reactivated and the alien soldiers retreating back into it. Unwilling to fire with their female comrade still a hostage, General Hammond could only watch as the leader glares at them with glowing eyes before returning back through the Stargate. The Stargate disengages and the humans are left alone in the room.

Air Force Major Samuels and his companion drove up to a two story house. Major Samuels discovers retired Colonel Jack O'Neil gazing at the stars thru his telescope. The major requests that the colonel was to come with him to meet General Hammond, the new man in charge of the Stargate project.

Back at the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, O'Neil is asked about his reports of the original Stargate mission. His report had stated that Ra-an alien promoting himself as an Egyptian god, was dead, along with one of the team's original members- scientist Daniel Jackson. The general shows a dead alien body and its weapons to O'Neil, who insisted that there were no such creatures living in Abydos. Ra was dead.

"..Daniel was a scientist. He sneezed alot. Basicly he was a geek, sir...he also saved my life and found a way home for my men and me..a little thing like that kinda makes a person grow on you...." Colonel Jack O'Neil talking about Daniel Jackson

The general, suspicious of the truth, shows O'Neil a bomb he is planning to send through the Stargate to Abydos. He wants to blow up the area, thus reburying the Stargate, insuring that the alien intruders could not go thru the Stargate again. Caught, O'Neil admits that his report wasn't accurate. The bomb in the original mission, did not blow up the Stargate like his report says, rather, in Ra's space-craft, miles above the planet. Ra was dead, but Doctor Daniel Jackson was alive and living with the people of Abydos. Angered at the breach of orders, General Hammond has O'Neil locked up until he could decided what to do with him and the Stargate situation.

O'Neil is reunited with his former teammate Lt. Kowalsky. He reveals to the lieutenant, during their conversation, that Skaara, reminded him of his dead son Charlie. Just then, General Hammond enters the holding cell. He is reluctant to send a bomb thru the Stargate to a world filled with innocent people. He is willing to hear other options. O'Neil offers to take a team thru the Stargate to find out the origins of the enemy, but the general wants to first confirm that Jackson was still alive. O'Neil offers a solution on how to find out.

In the Stargate room, O'Neil explains about Jackson'sallergies. He plans to send through the gate a box of tissues,so Jackson would know it is from one of his friends and not the military. After tossing the box through the activated Stargate. The men wait.

Hours later, the Stargate is activated offworld. After a few moments, a box is tossed back to them-empty and with the words "Thanks, send more" scrawledon its surface. Daniel Jackson is alive.

A team is prepared with Colonel O'Neil reinstated as teamleader. Kawalsky and Feretti, from the original mission, joins the colonel. To the colonel's dismay, the general also adds Captain Samantha Carter, a theorical astrophyist from the Pentagon.

"..I am an Air Force officer just like you are, colonel. And just because my reproductive organs are on the inside instead of the outside doesn't mean I can't handle whatever you can handle...." Captain Samantha Carter

The group goes through the Stargate with their new orders-to investigate the origins of the aliens and to bring back Doctor Daniel Jackson alive.

Upon arriving Abydos, the team is surrounded by boys with guns until Daniel Jackson steps in, telling them to lower their weapons-the soldiers were friends, not foe. Colonel Jack O'Neil spies an old friend-Skaara and goes over to him first. Skaara salutes him like he use to in the past and gives him a hug. Jack explains that six hostile aliens guarding a Ra look-a-like had come thru the Stargate. Daniel is postive that they didn't not come from the Abydosian gate, but might have an idea on where they might have come from. However,a sandstorm was blowing outside so Daniel invites them to share an evening meal. When the storm had past. Daniel tells Sha'uri to stay behind. She refuses at first, but Daniel promises to return shortly, kissing her fondly on her forehead. His wife responds with a passionate kiss goodbye that gets hoots and whistles from everyone.

Daniel leads O'Neil, Carter, and Kawalsky to an underground hall that he had discovered after O'Neil had returned home to Earth in the first mission. It was a vast hall with the Eye of Horus on one end of the hall. Its walls were covered with hiero-glyphics and symbols. Daniel believes that this is a map of stargate coordinates to all over the universe. Meanwhile, back at the Abydosian Stargate, the same group of aliens arrives thru and attacks the Abydosians and the soldiers. Apophis' lead warrior Teal'c, grabs Sha'uri. Another cobra warrior grabs Skaara. The alien group takes their subdued captives back into the Stargate.

An injured Feretti sees the coordinates before he passes out. Moments later, Daniel returns with the group to find chaos. He finds out from one of the injured that his wife Sha'uri and Skaara were taken by a Ra look-a-like. Daniel, at first, refuses to leave with O'Neill to return to Earth, but the colonel convinces him that Feretti might have seen the coordinates so they may be able to find Shau-ri and Skaara again. After a moment of thought, Daniel gathers the Abydosians together. He tells them that after he leaves, they were to bury the Stargate like before with a big coverstone on top of it and leave. After one year, they were to take the coverstone away. Daniel would try to return with Sha'uri and Skaara, but if he didn't-they were to bury the Stargate forever.

The team returns to Earth with the injured and finds that Stargate Command had installed a titanium iris on the Stargate, to seal behind them so no intruders could follow. Now all they can do is wait for Feretti to wake up and hope he could show them the seven symbols. While Kawalsky awaits his comrade to awake, O'Neill decides to return home. He finds Daniel, feeling a little unsure on what to do. O'Neil takes Daniel home to his place. Back at O'Neill's home, the two men talk of the events after the original mission. O'Neill reveals that when he returned from the first mission, his wife Sarah was not home-she had packed her things and left.

"...I'm just the opposite. I'll never forgive myself, but sometimes I can forget..sometimes.."
O'Neill telling Daniel Jackson about the death of his son Charlie

In Chulak where Sha'uri and Skaara are held captive, alien warriors select women to show to their leader, Apophis, who is seeking a host for his queen. Sha'uri is picked and separated from Skaara. The female soldier, originally captured back in Earth, had been rejected by Apophis and killed immediately.

Back at the base, the general holds a meeting to determine the next steps. He creates several teams who would go through the Stargate on reconn missions, one of which would be led by O'Neill under the name SG-1 and Kawalsky would lead SG-2. At first, the general had wanted Daniel Jackson to be a consultant, but the Egyptologist insists on staying with O'Neill's team and continue searching for his wife- Sha'uri. Unbeknownest to Daniel, Sha'uri has just been picked by Teal'c to be shown before Apophis.

Feretti has revived from his injuries and has given the seven symbols he saw Apophis punched in. With these coordinates, SG-1 and SG-2 have recieved their mission-to go in and out of Chulak within 24 hours. If the teams do not return within 24 hours, their transmission codes, the only way to get the titanium iris to open for return, would be locked out and the way home by the Stargate would be lost to them.

The two teams arrive at Chulak and divide up into groups. O'Neill's team would go seek out Sha'uri and Kawalsky's team would standby the Stargate.

Following a trail, SG-1 encounters a group of priests heading for the Stargate. Through broken words of Arabic, Daniel gets them to lead them to their city. Because they had gone thru the Stargate, the team are percieved as gods by the priests. They entered the city into what appeared to be a banquet hall. Before they could find out any information, Apophis arrives to show them their new queen. As the alien leader unveils the queen, Daniel discovers that the queen was his wife-Sha'uri. Before O'Neill could stop him, Daniel rushes over to his wife. Sha'uri, however, doesn't recongize her husband Daniel. Apophis uses a weapon, wrapped around his palm with a red stone, that flings Daniel across the room. O'Neill and Carter are also captured.

When Daniel awakes, he finds out that he and his companions are locked up in a huge room filled with other captors. They also found Skaara and told him about Sha'uri. Teal'c, who was observing them, approached O'Neill and asked where they were from. The alien warrior did not recongize the type of technology they had. Teal'c doesn't not understand the word "Earth" so Daniel tries to draw the Egyptian symbol for Earth- a pyramid with a round sun above it. Teal'c just wiped it away with his staff weapon.

Back on Earth, the general has been waiting anxiously for the return of his men. It is now four hours to the deadline.

Apophis returns to the huge room, bringing his new queen and a few of his followers. They are here to choose, Skaara had translated for O'Neill's group, who would be the children of the gods. One by one, the aliens callously examined each human, tossing them aside if the host bodies didn't suit their needs. Skaara gets chosen with some of the others. Apophis leaves, ordering his warriors to kill the rest.

As the people panicked, O'Neill had observed all this time that Teal'c didn't seem to be a willing participant in all of this. The warrior had been glancing over at them constantly. He shouts to Teal'c that they could help the people. Teal'c believes him. He turns around suddenly and shoots at his own comrades. O'Neill, using one of the alien's staff weapons, blasts out a wall so the prisoners could escape.

Teal'c:"...I have no place to go.." O'Neill:"...for this, you can stay over at my place.."
Colonel O'Neill telling Teal'c to escape with them after Teal'c attacked his own men.

As they head back for the Stargate, Teal'c tells the SG-1 members tha the is a Jaffa, bred to host the Goau'ld larvae until maturity. In exchange, he is granted perfect health and long life. To remove it, he would surely die.

Meanwhile, Apophis and his queen has just arrived at the Stargate. Skaara, now with a Goau'ld parasite in him, are awaiting the activation of the Stargate. As they enter the Stargate, O'Neil races to rescue Skaara. O'Neil calls out to Skaarajust before the boy enters the Stargate. Skaara pauses, turning around to O'Neil. Suddenly, using a similiar weapon of Apophis, he strikes out at O'Neil, sending him across the field. Skaara does not recongnize his friend O'Neil anymore.

The aliens had been attacking the escapees during this time with flying gliders. The SG-1 team tries to herd the others quickly to the Stargate. Just then, someone from the distance shoots down the glider. It is the SG-2 team. They had not leave despite the close deadline. As Daniel activates the gate, O'Neil, Teal'c, and Kawalsky's team try to push the alien warriors back, but more keep coming. As the last of the escapees enter thru the Stargate, the rest of the human soldiers pull back. Kawalsky sees one of his men stuck down by a Jaffa. As he rushes over to assist, a Goau'ld larvae comes slithering out of the nearby dead Jaffa and enters Kawalsky's body via neck. The soldier feels a brief pain, but doesn't realize what has truly happened. He just picks up his injured comrade with O'Neil's help and they go thru the Stargate.

On Earth, General Hammond could only watch in amazement as more and more refugees come thru the Stargate. Even more surprising to the general was when Teal'c, a alien warrior comes thru the Stargate and hands over his weapon to Carter as a sign of peace. As everyone try to organize the chaos, help the injured, O'Neil makes a request to General Hammond-O'Neil wants to vouch Teal'c and have him join the SG-1 team. The general replied that he would consider the request, but it was not up to him to decide.

As everyone empties out of the Stargate embarkament room, Kawalsky lags behind. He slows to a halt by the ramp, his eyes glowing.
