Continued from "Jolinar's Memories" as Part Two
Apophis has just revealed himself to Jack, Sam Daniel, Martouf and Jacob Carter. They are all kneeling on the floor of Binar's chamber, having been captured before they could escape through the transport rings to Teal'c's waiting cargo ship. Apophis states that they will be the means by which he will reclaim his power and position.
Daniel speaks up, telling him his mate Ammonet is dead, that he's sorry to ruin Apophis' day. Then he continues, that he's wrong about that, and that he's not sorry. Jack and Sam exchange concerned looks as this is NOT the time to get Apophis angrier. Apophis tells them that Sokar had told him of Ammonet's death, but he didn't want to believe it. Daniel tells him… to believe it! Apophis then asks where the shova, Teal'c is. One of the guards notices that Daniel is hiding something, and they wrest the communicator from him. Apophis calls Teal'c, telling him his god has risen and that the fate of his friends will be pleasant compared to what he has planned for him. Then he orders everyone returned to the pit.
The team is brought back to their dungeon. Martouf reminds them that he'd warned that Apophis might be restored using the sarcophagus when they returned him to Sokar. Now he most likely will use the information they hold about Earth and the Tok'ra to bargain for his freedom with Sokar.
Apophis speaks to the inhabitants of Natu and calls for them to join him. He announces that Binar is dead and that Sokar will come to punish them. He promises to destroy Sokar.
On Sokar's planet, a guard informs the Goa'uld that a cargo ship was found in orbit around Natu, but escaped into hyperspace. Sokar assumes the ship contained spies, and plans to begin his attack on the System Lords sooner. He wants his fleet ready in two days.
When Apophis' First Prime searched the team, he found the memory device and he turns it over to Apophis. Apophis calls for the woman prisoner to be brought to him. When his henchmen come to get Sam, Jack stands in the way saying, "I don't think so!" He is quickly shot in the leg with a staff weapon and collapses on the floor in pain. Sam agrees to go with them as Daniel rushes to apply a pressure bandage to the wound. Jack can only writhe and grunt in pain as Daniel works.
Meanwhile, Teal'c has successfully escaped in the cargo ship through hyperspace.
Sam is brought before Apophis and forced to kneel. He discovers the memory device behind her ear and knows it must have been being used to access the memories of Jolinar. He fully activates the memory device and tells Sam she will tell him anything he wants to know. She maintains that she'll tell him nothing. Her head is roughly pulled back and her mouth forced open. She is made to drink the blood of Sokar. Her clouded mind brings her into a very real illusion. She is talking to her father in her childhood home. They are discussing her mother's death. The discussion takes an odd turn, and she begins to realize something's wrong. Then her father says he's dying and needs to know the way home to Earth. Only she can save him. He wants the iris codes. She is certain now that this is not real, and the image fades into that of Apophis. Standing over her, he demands she tells him how to penetrate the Earth's Stargate or he will kill her father. She again refuses.
On the planet of Borash, Teal'c meets with the Tok'ra. They call a meeting of the high council to decide what to do.
Jack is brought limping before Apophis, and made to kneel. He groans as his knee obviously hurts. Apophis tells him Major Carter talked, but Jack doesn't buy it and says he won't talk either. They grab his head and apply the memory device. He begins to see images of his home and Charlie. They bring the drink to him and he tightens his lips. One of the guards punches his leg wound, and he screams. Still he spits out the drink. Then the guard grinds his fingers into the wound and Jack moans, open mouthed. They pour the liquid in.
Sam wakes, groggy and wants to know if Apophis had killed her dad. Daniel says no, that he's taken Jack. She tells Martouf about the blood of Sokar. He knows it as a strong hallucinogen. She's sure she didn't give up any information. Her dad feels he's not going to make it. Sam tells him that is not an option. He has to live to see his grandchildren again.
Jack is within his illusion and offers Charlie a baseball glove. The boy is playing with a water gun saying, "You're dead!" Jack doesn't want him to play with the gun, and Charlie says, "You have a gun!"
Jack retorts, "That's different!"
Charlie wants to know why and starts to run off. Then he turns and faces his father saying, "This isn't what happened, dad."
Jack answers, "I know… can't we just play catch?"
Charlie continues, "I shot myself with your gun! We didn't play catch that day and we never will." Jack wants to know why, why they can't just play catch. Charlie says he will play, if Jack tells him all about the Asgaard and the location of their home world, or the address of the world that downloaded the knowledge of the ancients into his brain. Jack knows this is all wrong, and refuses to tell him.
On Borash, the Tok'ra Aldwin has been ordered to return to Natu with a weapon to destroy Sokar and his mother ship. The weapon is to be launched into the core of Natu when the ship is in orbit. Natu will blow apart and the explosion will take Sokar with it. The Tok'ra have no intention of rescuing SG-1 or the trapped Tok'ra on Natu. Teal'c agrees to go with Aldwin.
Jack is dropped barely conscious on the floor of the pit. Daniel helps him to sit up, asking if he's OK. Jack says no. Daniel informs him that they took Martouf. Jack recounts that they put the memory thing on him and gave him something that reminded him of the seventies. Then he asks, "Daniel?"
"Yes?" Daniel responds.
"I'm gonna pass out again," Jack weakly announces and does just that.
Teal'c argues with Aldwin. He wants to attempt a rescue. Aldwin is not interested, and tells Teal'c it will take only twelve minutes from the launch of the weapon until the core of the moon reaches critical mass.
Martouf is now being tortured by Apophis, and Sam has been brought to kneel next to him. He sees Jolinar there. Apophis says he must reveal the location of the Tok'ra resistance or she dies. Martouf has tears streaming down his face. Sam says not to tell him anything. Apophis aims a staff weapon at Sam's head. Martouf cries and says he can not let her be killed. Then he says the Tok'ra resistance is based on the planet Antak. Apophis orders them returned to the pit and calls for Daniel Jackson.
Sokar is told that his fleet is ready, but that Binar has not reported in.
Daniel is marched to Apophis. Back in the cell, Martouf reveals to Sam that he lied to Apophis. Antak is a primitive world and the Tok'ra aren't there.
Daniel is now lost in his hallucination. He is unpacking Sha're's things given to him by Kasuf. Jack is asking how he's doing. Daniel holds their wedding cup. Jack tells him never to give up, to keep looking for the boy, Sha're's son. Jack continues to press, telling Daniel he believes in him and wants to know where the boy is. Daniel screams, "NO!" and refuses to tell him. Now Daniel is on his knees at Apophis' feet, holding his head, grinding out the words, "This.. is… not… real!"
Apophis raises his hand to strike Daniel, just as Sokar calls to Binar on their communication device. Apophis hesitates a second, then backhands Daniel solidly across his head and face. He collapses on the floor. Apophis tells Sokar that Binar is dead and that the denizens of Natu now follow him. Sokar threatens to destroy him with his ship. Apophis tells Sokar he has tortured the intruders and knows much, including the location of the Tok'ra resistance. Daniel moves sluggishly on the floor. Apophis asks for an audience with Sokar to prove his reverence and his desire to serve.
Sokar agrees to the request. As the guard pulls Daniel to his feet, he sees Teal'c's communicator lying on a shelf across the room. He gets up slowly and then throws a punch into the guard's rock solid abdomen. The guard does not flinch. Instead, he glares at Daniel and hits him across the jaw, sending him crashing across the room. He grabs the communicator as he falls to the floor, then he's dragged out with his arm pinned behind him.
Apophis explains to his First Prime how he will kill Sokar. He has a large switch blade concealed in his arm band. Apophis uses the transport rings to go up to Sokar's ship.
Daniel is returned to the cell. He shows them the communicator. They hail Teal'c, but Aldwin fires the weapon. The moon starts to tremble and erupt. Teal'c tells Sam they only have twelve minutes. Fires are burning everywhere. The world shakes violently. Using pent up pressure, Sam creates a rock blast to get them out of the prison.
Apophis tells Sokar the Tok'ra are on Antak. Sokar knows this is a lie. He has recently conquered Antak, and there are no Tok'ra there. He orders Apophis killed… slowly.
Teal'c locks Aldwin in a room on the ship, so he can't interfere, then Teal'c prepares to rescue the team.
Down on Natu the team has broken out of the pit and hurries to the transport rings. Everything is falling apart with fires burning and loud screaming. Jacob and Jack require help to walk. Teal'c positions the ship between Sokar's ship and Natu. He needs to bring it to a complete stop in order to intercept the matter stream from the transport rings.
Apophis is being tortured as Sokar is told that Natu is erupting. Apophis uses the distraction to knife his tormentor and run off, leaving behind a very displeased, howling in rage Sokar.
Teal'c flies under Sokar's ship. Martouf activates the transport rings and Daniel radios Teal'c. When they are safely on board the cargo ship, Teal'c takes off. Another matter stream is seen transporting someone from Sokar's ship to Sokar's planet. Then Natu explodes, destroying Sokar's mother ship.
On board the cargo ship, Teal'c leaves the controls and joins his teammates. "We have escaped!" he announces. Jack asks for iced tea, and air conditioning… and water. Water is passed around. Daniel is very dazed, sitting off by himself. Sam agrees to take some time off with her dad. He suggests Alaska. The ship enters hyperspace.
Apophis looks out a window in Sokar's palace at the exploding moon.
