Enemies

Opening....

A few scenes recapping the previous episode of "Exodus"

Apophis' ship looms over the teltac.

SG-1 and Jacob's ship has no shields or hyperdrive. Daniel suggests they contact Apophis, to Jacob's disbelief. "What are we going to tell him?" the Tok'ra asked. "I don't know. Don't shoot?" Daniel offered in return. Selmac calls to Apophis, announcing he was commander of the vessel, which Jack commented "Commander?"

"Do you want to bicker about rank now?" Jacob replied just as Apophis appears on their monitors. Apophis wouldn't listen to them, disregarding Daniel's argument that they were both off course, stating they can do nothing to help him. He tells the team to prepare to die and Daniel blurts out, "We surrender!" hoping to buy some time for the team. But Apophis mutters something else in Goa'uld before signing off which Daniel grimly translates as "Too late."

Apophis' mother ship hovers over them, ready to fire when a burst of energy comes out of its bulk and fires.....

Over their ship!

Another ship approaches from behind the teltak. Who are they? Jack doesn't know, but likes their "shoot first, send flowers later" style. The team takes advantage of the fight to escape to the blue giant the system they're in centers around. Jacob said the coronosphere radiation would conceal them from sensors, but it also means their own sensors can't pick up anything. Jack pauses and repeats "Radiation?" Jacob offers that the ship's hull could protect them an hour without shields or at least ten with shields.

Jacob and Sam go to engine room to check the power crystals, and to see if they can fix shields and hyperdrive. Jack and Daniel are left alone in the control room.

Daniel asks, "Do you want to talk about what happened down there?", referring to Vorash. Jack goes "no" and Daniel wryly comments he figured that. After a moment's pause, a more somber Jack says he and Teal'c were ambushed when they got to the rings. Teal'c took it in the back. And then he goes "I should have seen it coming." Daniel replies "Uh...well, I thought the key to a good ambush was to make sure that you don't see it coming." At Jack's look, Daniel went on saying "My point is that I'm sure you did your best."

Jack returns with a regretful, "My best wasn't good enough." To which Daniel has no reply.

-----------------------

Back to SGC...

The councilwoman Tok'ra Ren Au arrives and reports about what they thought happened to the SG-1 team and Selmac, confirming the star had indeed gone supernova, with no chance of survival. Ren Au tells Hammond the Tok'ra now officially consider Selmac as a war hero. Basically, it's their version of condolences. Hammond goes he wouldn't just yet. He's certain SG-1 survived, describing them as having "a surprisingly good habit of beating the odds.

-----------------------

Back on the teltak...

Sam and Jacob are trying to fix the hyperdrive, but the crystals were destroyed beyond repair. Jack radios in that "it's getting hot in here." Sam comments they're running out of time, they have to leave, with or without hyperdrive.

They head back to the helm, where they find Jack and Daniel...rolling a green ball back and forth to each other on the steps to Chronos' throne. Jacob veers their ship away from the blue giant's radiation. As they head out into space they find...

Apophis' ship.

The other ship is gone. Apophis' ship appears damaged and there are no life signs aboard. The team and Jacob decides they'll beam over there and try to repair the larger ship since it is faster or at least get new crystals to replace the burnt out ones for the hyperdrive.

-----------------------

On Apophis' ship...

Daniel is left behind at the helm of the teltak. Jack, Sam and Jacob land on Apophis' ship via the rings. Red lights, sirens, and a voice saying something in Goa'uld. The self-destruct mechanism has been activated, Jacob translates. They have four minutes. So, they split up. Sam and Jack to the peltak to turn off the self-destruct, Jacob to the engine room to get crystals.

Jack and Sam are down a hallway and they see a lot of dead Jaffa lying about. Jack turns one over and summarizes the Jaffa's condition as "Ewwww." A sound can be heard, they whip around in time to see a glimpse of something. Something that Sam says sounds eerily familiar.

They see another. It's a replicator. Jack calls Jacob. They should REALLY go now. Jacob agrees, his eyes fixed on something. Camera pans and reveals lots and lots of replicators swarming all over the engine room.

-----------------------

Daniel radios to ask what's going on. Jack and Sam are running. They still have to get the crystals. Jacob says they got three minutes, and Daniel has to fly them out of here. To which Daniel said uh..."okay, and you're going to have to tell me HOW to do that."

Jacob reaches the ring room and finds Jack and Sam aren't there. He goes running, yelling for Sam and Jack, hears their gunfire, and converges with them in a hallway. A huge wave of replicators come skittering towards them and they turn around and run for the ring room. Jack slides into the border of the transport rings, shooting one last bug as the rings fall around them before they get whisked away!

They get to ship, run to the helm, Jacob shouting "We're not going to make it!" - him and Sam comment on how the bugs might have tapped into the main controls over there, the blast would be fierce, etc. Jack hollers "You guys are being too negative!" Jacob takes over the helm from Daniel to stop the engines and divert all power to the shields.

BOOM! Apophis' ship blows up. The teltak's shields come up and just in time as the wave of energy washes over them and their shields.

Crisis over, Jack and Sam start to head back to the engine room to replace the damaged crystals when Jack stops them. Jack dryly says, "I believe someone said we're not going to make it."

Jacob talking with Sam about going to replace the crystals with the new ones they got. And Jack repeats it. Jacob goes okay, so he overreacted. But at the time, it really looked bad. Jack remarks, "Well next time, maybe we should just wait and see?" To which Jacob replies "And blow the last chance I might ever have to be right?" Jack goes "What?" As Sam walks by to follow her dad to the engine room, she quips "Welcome to my life" and again Jack goes "What?"

-----------------------

Okay, back at engine room, the crystals are fixed. Then suddenly Daniel radios in "peltak to engine room, engine room, come back to helm immediately". Jacob looks to Sam and remarks wryly "Think we've left him in charge once too often?" He asks what's wrong and Daniel says there's a ship on the sensors.

They head back, check the monitor and find it's a Goa'uld cargo ship. Much smaller than theirs. Someone must have escaped from Apophis' ship. Selmac radios it. No reply. Then it's back to "Selmac, Commander of this vessel." Jack comments, "We should talk about this commander thing next time"

Screen glosses over and it's...

TEAL'C!

He says he was revived by Apophis with the sarcophagus and had help escaping with a few Jaffa who have supported their cause. He gets permission to come aboard.

Cargo ship comes into landing bay. Jack, Sam and Daniel run to greet Teal'c, who is standing there alone, tall and yes, very much alive. Jack gives him a hug. Clearly glad to see he was okay. They embrace and then Teal'c yanks out Jack's gun and points it at him!

Other Jaffa come into view pointing staff weapons, and in walks in Apophis! He looks proud and tells Teal'c he is glad to see Teal'c finally regain his position as his first prime!

Jack doesn't believe it; neither do Daniel or Sam. They are led into an empty room in the teltak. Jack tries again, whispering okay, it's a weird plan, but hey, just give the word and they'll jump at the first chance. Teal'c gives Jack a look, a slight pause...

And whacks Jack hard in the nose with the gun.

Teal'c declares was always pretending to be on their side and how he wished all the times he saved Jack's life he could have watched him die instead. Jack argues about how Teal'c couldn't be on Apophis' side, heck, he even watched him die once! Teal'c smiles and says he knew Apophis would die and be reborn more powerful than ever.

Daniel comes forward, the confiscated gun pointed at him now. He reminds Teal'c how Apophis brainwashed his son (in the episode "Family") and to "consider the possibility." Teal'c pivots around and walks out, the door sliding down shut behind him. Daniel finishes off lamely "Or maybe not."

-------------------------

As Teal'c walks away from the shut door. Guards around him comment on how they would die before they reach Delmak for new symbiotes, to which Teal'c responds that Apophis will live on and they will serve him until their deaths.

-------------------------

Back in cell...

Jack eyes the panel, asking Sam if they could hotwire it and get it to open. Sam answers the panel probably has some sort of safeguard mechanism to prevent that, otherwise it would be "pretty stupid to lock us in here like they did." At Jack's look, she adds sheepishly, "I'll give it a shot...sir."

-------------------------

At the hallways...

We see guards moving supplies from the cargo ship Apophis arrived on. Then we see the sarcophagus. The boxes are stacked up and left alone. Then...a hole opens and Replicators come crawling out!

Meanwhile, Jacob has been lurking in the hallways, having slipped away before Teal'c could find him. He goes to find the others.

-------------------------

In the peltak (helm room)...

Teal'c comes to see Apophis, now in First Prime garb, in the main helm room of the ship they took over. He vows to find Selmac for him.

-------------------------

In the locked room...

Sam's still trying. Says she has no idea of what's she doing. There's a zero chance of this possibly working-

Door opens.

"Well maybe not zero", Sam utters, surprised.

Jacob peeks in, waving them, whispering, "Come on." SG-1 and Jacob turn around to leave and halt at the sight of the staff weapon pointed right at Jacob. Jack tells Teal'c part of him must still know the truth. Teal'c answers that when his larva matures, Jack will be its new host. Jack winces as Daniel gives Jack a bemused look. Jack mutters, "Wrong truth."

Teal'c eyes the panel they were tampering and fires on it to ensure they won't be able to try again. Sam barely gets away, her father grabbing onto her protectively. The doors shut again.

-------------------------

Back at main helm...

Jaffa reports systems are failing. Teal'c pushes past the guard and tries himself. They have lost control of the ship. The guards go to check. They find the engine room overrun by replicators.

-------------------------

In the locked room...

The team is sitting on the room. Sam with her dad in the center of the room, Jack and Daniel propped up against the wall opposite of them. There's a flash. The ship dropped out of hyperspeed.

Suddenly, the door opens up a crack. How odd, Jack commented.

A replicator comes around the door to their side, goes up the wall. Jack crawls slowly to opened door and peeks out. Sees rows of replicators going by. "This is bad," he said. Sam goes if they had taken over the controls and Jack mutters again "This is bad."

We get from the replicator a fuzzy black and white upside POV of Daniel as it ventures closer. Daniel jerks back as it draws near. Sam says it won't attack unless it is threatened. Regardless, Daniel suggests they should go.

The four crawl out on hands and knees under the partially raised door.

-------------------------

Back at helm...

Teal'c radios Apophis that the replicators are all over. 'There are too many of them, too little of us' as he puts it. They get attacked, and the transmission gets cuts off. Apophis storms out of control room with more troops and sees replicators approaching them, nearer, nearer, more and more...Apophis slips back into the control room and shuts door as his men begin screaming in pain, surrounded presumably by the replicators.

-------------------------

Meanwhile, our team is running. The ship is riddled with holes. They peek into one and find the room with all their stuff in it. Their best chance is the cargo ship. The replicators would have been busy trying to gain control of the mother ship and may not bother with the cargo ship yet. Daniel argues brainwashed or not, they can't leave Teal'c. Daniel and Jacob go to secure the ship. Jack and Sam go to get Teal'c. Before they go though, Jacob gives Jack a shock grenade.

-------------------------

Jaffa guards are marching down the halls. One asks does even their god fear these demons? Teal'c says if he repeats that blasphemy, he'll kill him himself!

Sam and Jack are on opposite ends of a corner, waiting for Teal'c to approach. Teal'c had stops though, hearing the replicators walking behind the walls. Jack fiddles with shock grenade and tosses it.

BOOM!

They didn't get them all, and a firefight ensues. Jack is finally forced to shoot Teal'c. Teal'c had fired on a replicator sneaking up behind him, turning his weapon back at Jack. Jack pauses, reluctant, before fires, hitting Teal'c square on the chest.

Teal'c is down, but he is alive. Jack and Sam haul him back to cargo ship.

-------------------------

They get to ship, tie Teal'c up, and get ready to leave when the mother ship suddenly jumps into hyperspeed. They can't get the cargo bay doors open while in hyperspeed. No escape for them.

-------------------------

Jack, Sam, and Daniel go back out into the mothership, armed with assault rifles. Sam checks the controls. Ship is going back to Sokar's old planet. AND going 20, 30 times faster than hyperspeed. Great, Jacob goes. They would be back home in no time! BUT, Sam emphasizes, they have to stop the bugs. They can't let the replicators get a foothold on their galaxy.

Team discusses it and figures the self-destruct won't work, but an uncontrolled crash through the atmosphere would destroy the replicators. But....

To do so, they have to destroy the sublight engines and those are in the engine room. The crystals have to be physically destroyed. P-90s, Sam says, would do the trick. They can't risk setting a bomb because the replicators might catch on to their intentions. They have to destroy crystals at the last minute, the moment the ship gets out of hyperdrive and run like hell back to their ship to escape!

Jacob goes to the cargo ship, getting it ready. Daniel, Jack and Sam go to engine room and find a big hive-like structure hanging off the engines. Sam is looking for control panel. Jack whispers we better not wake it up!

-------------------------

Ship arrives to Sokar's planet. Jack fires his gun at the exposed crystals in the control panel. Replicator swarm wakes up.

The bugs are mad. (Ya think?) The replicators separated into big wasp like creatures. HUGE, different from the ones we saw on "Nemesis". Jack yells, "Go, go, go, go," and they run like crazy, the replicators hot on their heels.

-------------------------

In the cargo ship...

Cargo bay doors are opening for Jacob. He's getting ready.

Team in hallways, running, firing at bugs. And I mean EVERYONE was firing. Great action shot here of Sam, Daniel and Jack alternating returning fire, taking up the rear as they forged ahead to escape. Ship is falling towards the atmosphere.

We see one bug's POV again, zeroing in on Daniel. Daniel crouches, Jack fires at it with accuracy, shattering it over Daniel.

Bugs are blocking exit. No choice though. The team starts firing like mad, pushing through.

Jacob radios. There's no time. Where the heck are they? Sam reports in they've reached a ring room in level 10. Jacob's going to have to try and remotely beam them in. He does and they rev up to go when the doors start closing!

Bugs regain control of ship. Can they make it? Jacob admits he can't say. He pushes their cargo ship forward and barely squeezes through, sparks flying from one wing as they scrape out between the doors.

-------------------------

Back to teltak...

We see Apophis with his personal shield around him, watching the screen as they plunge to the surface. He gives an outraged shout and...

We see little blip of light on the planet as ship crashes. Replicators destroyed.

Jack goes back to Teal'c, meditating, and tied up in the next room. Teal'c goes "You may torture me all you wish. I will tell you nothing." Jack apologizes for shooting him, but he didn't "give him a choice at the time". He then says Apophis is dead. "Trust me," Jack adds.

Slight pause of disbelief and then Teal'c coldly says he does not believe Jack. Gods cannot be killed.

We then fade to black. To be continued on "Threshold"
