Auction Highlighted by Offer of Richard Dean Anderson’s ‘Vancouver Vehicle’ – 1995 Lincoln Towncar, Cartier Edition

Los Angeles, September 22, 2003 -- MGM Worldwide Television in association with Legends Memorabilia Inc. announces the kickoff of its first-ever online studio auction of more than 100 items used in the actual production of the hit series’ first six seasons. At 12:01 am (PST) today, the virtual “opening bell” rang at eBay for the unprecedented auction of costumes, props, set decoration pieces, studio concept art and more from the action-adventures Sci-Fi series starring Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge as the SG-1 team, whose ongoing mission to thwart intergalactic dangers to the Earth takes them through an ancient portal, the Stargate, which transports them to distant worlds.

Throughout the following three weeks, items will be added to the auction each day, with the bidding remaining open on each item for only ten days. With new items added throughout the auction, viewers will want to check in frequently. The online auction will end Sunday night, October 12, at midnight (PST).

Expected to draw some of the greatest attention is the 1995 Lincoln Towncar, Cartier Edition, that has shuttled series star Richard Dean Anderson between his Vancouver home and the STARGATE SG-1 set during the past six seasons. The car is silver, fully loaded and in immaculate condition. This item will be sold with no reserve, meaning the highest bidder will win, regardless of the winning amount.

The 125+ items offered include numerous costumes and props, all of which have actually been used in the production of the show, and many of which were worn or handled by the series stars. Included are the series’ legendary “Crystal Skull,” a Zat Gun, Teal’c’s Staff Weapon, and the armband/super powers device worn by Daniel Jackson (actor Michael Shanks) in the episode “Upgrades.” All of the items can be viewed, and bid upon, at:
