Jack sneezed.
“Yes, Janet, he still has a fever.”
Jack coughed.
“No, he won’t eat, not even cake. Yes, he did drink some juice. Last Tylenol was about two hours ago.”
Jack tried to blow his nose, but all it did was close his ears so that he couldn’t hear anything, not even Daniel. Jack lie back against the pillows and sighed. His head felt like it would explode. Explode into a million fragments. Like shrapnel. Jack smiled. His head was a weapon! That was soooo cool.
“Jack”.
Maybe he could get Daniel to sneak him on board Ba’als mothership. Since Carter was sick too, if Teal’c snuck her out of the infirmary, they could blow up the entire…

Jack blearily opened his eyes. Daniel stood next to the bed, holding a cool cloth that he placed on Jack’s forehead.
“Janet said the antibiotics should kick in within the next twenty-four hours, and you should start to feel bet…
“Daniel, take me back, we have to get to the Stargate,. Secret weapon...Hammond can call Washington…
“Oh, ok, well, you rest there while I get your coat.” Daniel quietly walked to the doorway of Jack’s bedroom and waited.
Jack’s head slowly drifted over onto his shoulder. His glazed over eyes closed, and he fell asleep, propped up on the pillows so he could breathe easier.
Daniel turned on the vaporizer. Thank god for sleeping pills that sick Colonel’s couldn’t taste and that CMO of Cheyenne Mountain were not afraid to dispense.
Jack coughed and turned over onto his side. Daniel smiled. Jack would be better soon, but until that happened, Daniel would be there. That’s what friends were for.
