We have some announcements at the [ sg news ] section on both a Stargate survey and on a charity auction running on Ebay from Legends, for the hurricane victims of Katrina.
I have several updates to be loaded. Already, season 8 caps are completely up and we're slowly updating the other seasons. I am currently looking for volunteers for fic coding (possibly for Atlantis fic) but would be training under Stargate Sg-1 fic first. August 1, 2005(Vancouver, BC): Richard Dean Anderson, Legends Memorabilia, and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society announce the launch of the "Signed and Sealed" charity autograph project to raise funds to assist Sea Shepherd in their efforts to stop the slaughter of Canadian seals.
This project offers a unique selection of photos of Richard with the baby seals taken on the ice floes in March 2005. Each photo has been personally signed by Richard Dean Anderson, and every single cent of the proceeds will go to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
The Canadian commercial seal hunt is the largest mass slaughter of marine mammals in the world, and Canada has slaughtered over 320,000 seals in March and April of 2005.
Paul Brown, President of Legends, said "We are delighted to help Richard and Sea Shepherd in their efforts to stop the seal hunt, and are confident that our many clients and friends around the world will join us in this project."

Wow, has it been a month already? FInals, work, fanzines, and cons had finally kidnapped Yum@ and sent her through a Stargate without a GDO. Hi,New fic AND news from Legends Memorabilia!
If you've noticed, we'd started putting up more and more fic (or at leat we try) recently. We seem to be in perpectual backlogs of work. I do ask everyone be patient as coding takes time. And remember, we don't just code. The staff has to read and go over the fics, ensure all the information is right. And we try. So bear with us. : )
The good news is that we got help. LOTS of help for a majority of departments. It means gearing up and picking up speed as we get ready for a 9th year of Stargate SG-1 and its newest cast member, former of Farscape Ben Browder!
So, the next coming days, we'll be updating and revising our staff list. We're still looking for people for the Episodes dept if anyone fancies writing a synopsis for one of the early seasons. Definitely contact us at volunteer (at) stargatefan.com

Hi,Here we are at another year. Thank you to all of those emailing inquiring about the site. We're okay, just (drumroll please...) a little behind! LOL. Big surprise, huh?
In reality, the staff have been working hard. They are truly what makes this site great. I myself have been behind and take full blame for any snafu that has been occurring. Rest assured, as always, I'm trying my best and always looking for best ways to speed things up and make things (insert Harlan's voice) "better".
And better it shall be as we gear up for 2005 with additional staff, new help and hopefully revived energy! I am ALWAYS looking for more help however and in particular, anyone who is comfortable with reading HTML code, with editing HTML with just notepad. Hi there,We've been loading lots of new images for Season 6 (Abyss, Changeling [revised],Full Circle) Season 7 (too many to list) and Season 8 (Zero Hour and Icon). Check out Jack as a Fireman in [ Changeling ] or Daniel in his World War II bomber jacket in [ Icon ]. All great for AU fic inspiration. In fact, we've even made it a [ new fic challenge] for this month.
Also, we're adding some nifty "UPDATE" buttons to help people catch what's new a little easier. Feel free to let us know what you think about these or any of the other changes we're making to the site.
And, we're still looking for volunteers to help us with finding new stories and coding them. If you have even 15 or 30 minutes a week you'd be willing to give to us please let us know. If you have a gen fic you wish to submit, please hold off until then.

We've moved!Okay, it's not totally changed, oh-my-gosh-flying-colors-and-zats-different. The new server does mean better service, more room to grow, and perhaps better email response time as we introduce some new dept changes.

So what does this mean for Stargatefan.com? Hopefully it means more room to grow, a greater chance to building that automated archive for our fanfic writers, and more fun!
Each time you type our addy http://www.stargatefan.com, you will be sent directly to the new address. No need to bookmark this location, however. By September 1st, we will be transferring our domain name to this address so each time you type Stargatefan, you will arrive at our new home.

It's great to be back. Thank you all for your well wishes during this time of absence and for being so understanding. Back from our lull with new fics and an update on our move to a new server.
We're currently exploring archiving possibilities for the website in hopes of speeding up the fic process for you all. This means, however, that a few weeks from now, there may be a halt to accepting submissions as we bring this engine intergrated to our server.
In a few days, you will be directed to our new location. Typing in http://www.stargatefan.com will still work, but instead of this server, you will be automatically be sent to the new location. Please feel free to explore the new home. Everything will be the same, but I would love to hear from you if there are any bugs in the system. We want to get this perfected and running soon for all the fans!

We were experiencing enormous problems with SPAM emails that if the fic email wasn't properly subject titled, they may have been accidentally deleted as SPAM or as UNKNOWN virus source. It is crucial is you are sending a fic via email to be sure your email header lists that it is a fic submission. Do NOT just put in your email header the following: Hello, Just For You, Document Attached or something of that vague sort. Our filters are programmed to either block or automatically delete those to protect the website. Please keep this in mind when you are trying to contact us. This would resolve 90% of our email delays.

Things had been hectic, delays piling up faster than I can catch up. Thank you everyone for your well-wishes. I do feel much better now and strive to catch up to service the fandom. Important notice: We've been constantly beset with SPAM mail, a backlog from the %$#$$^ viruses out there. If you had submitted a fic or link since September 10 and they are NOT up yet. Please resubmit the fic immediately to our staff at: fanfic@stargatefan.com. I'm currently trying to set up forms to make it easier to load and submit fics, but until we are certain all fics that were lost are found, we can not implement them yet.Please accept my apologies for the extreme delays. The staff here at Stargatefan.com have been amazing and absolutely the hardest working staff I'd ever known or experience. The delays are within my field, my problem and the blame falls only to me. Have patience, I'll get up to speed. Writing and editing will now currently go on hold until the fics are fully up to speed.
In the meantime, we have updated our [ links ] section for easier browsing and hopefully faster upload time. The webmaster for this great resource had graciously granted us permission to adopt some of her sections. Currently, there are a few gen fics we would merge once we reach each and every author to gain their consent. (After all, these are their fics, their property. Hee hee. Wish I could say they were mine, but fic writing has been a while. LOL)
If you were a writer hosted at Spacemonkey's Gate and wish to email ahead the okay to host your fics here, please feel free to contact me personally at: webmaster@stargatefan.com, RE: Permission to Transfer from Spacemonkey Gate. This also pertains to the gen wallpaper and other files you had granted Spacemonkey's Gate and would not object to us hosting them instead.
This merge is a long process, but one I am more than willing to partake in order to preserve such a resource within the fandom. Spacemonkey's Gate will be sorely missed. I hope we'll be able to provide it a good home and do it justice.

Many of you have had conveyed a wish wanting to help out in regards to the Dec 26th tsunami disaster in Asia. While there are many organizations out there who are assisting with supplies, there are a few centralized groups now presently there whom you can send donations to, should you wish to do so.
